It is time to take these guys quite seriously.

Most of the numbers say we probably shouldn’t. Their run differential says they should be well under .500. Their offense is not entirely intimidating and could be seen as a liability. Their overall pitching is about the worst in Major League Baseball, and their rotation has not been much better.

Based on all of that, this is a club that should be falling back for a top draft position: not holding onto a playoff position.

However things turn out, 2015 will go down as a magical season for the Houston Astros. On Friday night, Mike Fiers added a pretty neat trick of his own.

As the August 31 waiver trade deadline fast approaches, it will force some movement of talent in the MLB in the coming week. 

Contenders are looking to improve their playoff-bound rosters, while other clubs simply want to unload contracts of players they don't feel are key pieces of the future.

It's a two-way street, and teams that hope to compete deep into October desperately want to snag those one or two players who could spell the difference between a first-round exit and a World Series title.

Last week, the San Francisco Giants released their rendition of the Full House theme, dubbed "Full Clubhouse," to promote an upcoming home date themed after the show.

The Washington Nationals' playoff window continues to close with each game, but the team will at least give its fans some excitement in the form of Trea Turner. The Nats announced Friday they called up the 22-year-old shortstop.
