The Yankees were no match for the newly-extended Andrew McCutchen and the Pirates today in Bradenton. To celebrate his new six-year contract with Pittsburgh, McCutchen killed the Yankees for two hits and two RBI.

The Yankees dropped their first game of the spring today against the Phillies in Bright House Park.

Fans got their first chance to see the team's biggest offseason acquisition, Michael Pineda, in his start today against Joe Blanton.

Michael Pineda made his first start for the New York Yankees against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Yes, it is only spring training and not a regular season game in New York, but he was impressive nonetheless.

Almost nobody questioned Pineda's pure stuff, but there have been questions about his mental status because of his big move to New York.

And what a game it was!

It's been a cold April for the Rockies, but there isn't a sole in the clubhouse complaining about it.

After a thrilling series with the Cleveland Indians, the Kansas City Royals traveled to Arlington to take on the Texas Rangers in a three-game series. This is the beginning of a six-game road trip that will end in Cleveland next week.

The A's finished a six game week with a 3-3 record.

That was a surprising twist, considering how the A's offense struggled against the Mariners on Thursday and Friday.

The Atlanta Braves completed a sweep of the defending champion San Francisco Giants today behind a solid outing from rookie Brandon Beachy. Craig Kimbel closed out the three-game series in which Braves starters have only allowed five runs.

The sweep was particularly sweet for the Braves who fell to the Giants in the 2010 NLDS. In that series, every game came down to one run. But the Braves eventually shot themselves in the foot, committing seven errors.

They say good starting pitching is contagious. After starting the year with a record of 2-5 and a cumulative ERA of 7.24 in the first 10 games, the members of the rotation have gone 6-2, with an extraordinary ERA of 1.65, in the last 10 games.

Their performance has been even more extraordinary over the last eight games, compiling a mark of 6-1, with a 1.01 ERA.
