Babe Ruth and the Boston Red Sox Team of 1915!

Forget those sun-faded glossy photos that are autographed by your favorite star, like A-Rod or Charles Barkley. You can now own real history, if you have the cash to put on the camera lens.

Memory Lane, Inc. (not that old fancy hamburger chain?) is selling off some of the artwork that adorned unknown walls over the years (not the Green Monster?). One item jumps out like the Curse of the Bambino come to life.

Yes, you can now own a photo of Babe Ruth, extraordinary rookie with the Boston Red Sox, from a 1915 team photo, taken in the brand spanking new Fenway Park. The print was done within two years of the original, which means the photograph is older than the now-dead curse.

Ruth was a pitcher with the Sox, and bound for big World Series victories without pinstripes. That would come later. The Boston team wears generic white uniforms without team logos for those who like to use their Photoshop skills to add their own names.

Red Sox fans will also have a keepsake picture of Speaker, Hooper, and Lewis, the notable Sox outfield, which sits in the dirt in the front row. Top row features the ever-smokin’ Joe Wood (second from right) and that moon-faced Bambino (fourth from the left).

On the reverse of the image, it clearly states that this is a “Valuable Original.” Get those credit cards out, fans. At the rate this picture is gaining value, you may need some bailout money from Congress.

The bidding will go on until Apr. 4, and the high bid is now exceeding $3300. It costs that much to sit in a Monster seat at Fenway. Imagine what the future return on this investment will be. It's almost like being there.
