Battle of the Blogs Fantasy Baseball: Draft Recap

So Battle of the Blogs Fantasy Baseball League had its draft last night. My team, Double G Sports , had the sixth pick in the first round—and each round after that was done in a snake format.

It was not an easy task drafting a fantasy baseball team in a 20-team league—especially when each team has a 24-man roster. In a league full of baseball bloggers battling for bragging rights, every pick could mean a lot.

I am not sure how I feel about my team, so I am hoping some of you can help me out.

The draft started with Lady Loves Pinstripes getting the first overall pick. I was interested to see who she would be picking, as she had the entire MLB player pool to choose from. Lady Loves Pinstripes stuck to her Yankees and took third baseman Alex Rodriguez.

As I was sitting in the sixth spot, I had been hoping Ryan Braun would fall to me. That is ultimately who I wanted to take in the first round. It didn't happen. Ryan Braun was selected fifth overall by The Rat Trick, who happened to pick right before me.

So, with Braun off the board, I decided to go with a first baseman. My options were Prince Fielder, Mark Teixeira, Ryan Howard, or Adrian Gonzalez. I was just about to take Fielder when I quickly changed my mind and grabbed Teixeira.

Maybe it was due to me being a Yankee fan, I'm not sure. Either way, Tex was my first- round pick. Babes Loves Baseball actually selected Fielder right after me.
