Brad Hawpe Not On The Market, Says Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd

Colorado Rockies right fielder Brad Hawpe is not on the market as previously speculated.

FoxSports.com is reporting that Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd has no interest in dealing the 2009 All-Star despite being a non-factor during the NLDS for the Rockies.

Many members of the local media and fans alike had speculated that the Rockies would deal Hawpe based on his lackluster performance down the stretch. He hit a weak .209 with only 10 RBI down the stretch providing no offensive lift to the Rockies' postseason run.

Hawp started 2009 on fire and at one point in the season was the only spark the Rockies had. That led to his first career All-Star appearance. Hawpe finished the year hitting .284 with 23 HR and 86 RBI.

The remainder of Hawpe’s contract is not terribly expensive. The Rockies have him for 2010 at $7.5 million with a no buy out $10 million option for 2011.
