Final Score: Cubs 6, Cardinals 3
A crazy second inning that saw St. Louis commit a pair of errors and Chicago score five runs was ultimately the difference in Game 2 of the NLDS between the longtime rivals which is now tied at one game apiece.
Jorge Soler, who got the start in right field over Kyle Schwarber, reached base four times, going 2-for-2 with a mammoth solo home run and a pair of walks, while Travis Wood, Trevor Cahill and Hector Rondon provided the Cubs with 4.1 innings of scoreless relief.
St. Louis got three solo home runs from Matt Carpenter, Randal Grichuk and Kolten Wong, but ultimately couldn't overcome a combined 2-for-20 performance from the heart of the lineup.
Thanks for hanging out with us tonight and make sure to check back on Monday for live coverage of all the Game 3 action from what promises to be a raucous Wrigley Field, as Michael Wacha and Jake Arrieta will go head-to-head.
