David Ortiz Is No Longer Fond of the Boston Media

It took only two games into season for Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz to blow a gasket at the media. Here is what Ortiz had to say after his 0-for-7 start.

“Good,” he said, turning to face the reporters encircling him. “You guys wait ’til [expletive] happens, then you can talk [expletive]. Two [expletive] games, and already you [expletives] are going crazy."

Ortiz is not smiling at the Boston Media.

“What’s up with that, man? [Expletive]. [Expletive] 160 games left. That’s a [expletive]. One of you [expletives] got to go ahead and hit for me.”

Well then. I was going to fill in the expletives, but I vowed to my Jewish mother that I would keep this a site that is fun for the whole family.

I think everyone just needs to settle down here. There is no need to overreact after two games. I could see getting on Ortiz after 30 games, but not after two.

And Ortiz needs to relax as well. He has played in Boston long enough to know how this goes.

However, I will say this. I think it is very important that Ortiz does get off to a good start in 2010. The Red Sox lineup will only be as good as Ortiz, so it’s imperative that he produces throughout the year.

For what it’s worth, Ortiz did drive in a run in last night’s 3-1 loss to the New York Yankees. However, he looked terrible for most of the night. Ortiz didn’t have good swings at all.
