Delmon Young and Michael Cuddyer: A Community Projection

The pitchers have been covered—assuming the team will go with an 11-man staff and assuming the correct bullpen has been predicted. It's now time to move on to projecting the lineup and bench.

Instead of doing one at a time we're going to switch to two at a time to get done faster.

One more set will likely be posted before next week, and then three will likely go up within the next week to hopefully get these mostly done with time before the season.

It's hard to tell exactly where Young will fit into the crowded outfield, but he should still see consistent at-bats, and very possibly more than 500 in the '09 season.

Young wasn't terrible last season, but there is hope he'll really breakout in this upcoming campaign.

Cuddyer was unhealthy for most of the 2008 season, and so he hasn't yet lived up to his big deal from the previous offseason.

If Cuddyer can get back to where he was when he played everyday back in '07, he could be a huge addition to the lineup and act somewhat like a right-handed free agent signing.
