Good News on the Posada Front

From Mark Feinsand:

"I feel good about it, I do. And last night's the best I felt, because of what I saw," Girardi said. "When he threw it, I went, 'wow.' That's the expression I used when I looked at Tony (Pena). He said he felt great, and that was really positive."

Girardi said the Yanks likely will try to have one or two kids run on Posada today at the minor-league complex, but joked "if nobody gets on, then we have an issue."

For an update of Posada's performance today here's more from Peter Abraham:

Jorge Posada, meanwhile, made three game-condition throws to second base as runners were put on first and ordered to steal.

The first throw bounced at the bag but beat the runner. The second one he had no chance on as Pettitte was slow to the plate and Perez went on his first move. Then a kid named Edwar Gonzalez ran in the final inning. He was safe but Posada made a strong throw that the infielder fanned on.

Posada said he felt good. After catching five innings last night, he caught nearly six innings today.

Good news all around for Jorge.
