Mets Make Roster Change Following Today's Loss

The Mets have made yet another roster move this week.

Newsday’s David Lennon is reporting that the team has designated LHP Casey Fossum  for assignment and purchased the contract of LHP Ken Takahashi from Triple-A Buffalo.

Earlier in the day, Fossum pitched two-and-two-thirds innings against the Nationals, while giving up one earned run and striking out two batters. However, Fossum was far from dominant, as he surrendered three hits and allowed all runners to score.

Ken Takahashi will take over Fossum's role as the secondary left-handed reliever.

Takahashi has posted some impressive numbers for the Bisons this season. In eleven-and-two-thirds innings of work, Takahashi has given up just one earned run and struck out nine batters.

It should be noted that Takahashi is no youngster (he is 40-years-old), but should be usefulmany major league hitters have yet to see his stuff.

Hopefully Takahashi can provide some quality innings and give the rest of the bullpen, namely Pedro Feliciano and Brian Stokes, some rest.
