This is far from comprehensive. But here goes.
1. Peter Gammons is leaving ESPN. Never liked the guy. I hate the Red Sox.
2. The Yanks are on the verge of acquiring Curtis Granderson. I don't know why. He's good. He hits for power and is fast. But he's not necessary, and they're giving up a lot to get him. Plus, the trade involves those goddamn Arizona Diamondbacks, and our prior dealings with them have not worked out favorably (see: Randy Johnson—both ways, Brett Prinz, Brian Bruney, and some incident in 2001). If we give up Austin Jackson, it's so not worth it. Ian Kennedy? Fine. They can have Phil Coke too. But otherwise, why bother?
UPDATE: Apparently, all sides have agreed . Poop.
3. The Giants are talking about acquiring Kevin Kouzmanoff. Looks like Singfer found someone to take the Kouz! Hooray for inside jokes!
