Tigers 7, Blue Jays 6

--Scott Sizemore, who is making his way back from ankle surgery, went 1-for-2 with a walk Wednesday against the Blue Jays.
--Daniel Schlereth was tagged for four runs in an inning by the Blue Jays in his appearance Wednesday.
--Jeremy Bonderman worked two scoreless innings and struck out three Wednesday in the Tigers’ 7-6 win over the Blue Jays.
--Travis Snider struck out in both of his at-bats as the Blue Jays’ No. 9 hitter Wednesday against the Tigers

Boston 15, Northeastern 0

--David Ortiz hit a two-run homer as the Red Sox beat Northeastern 15-0 in seven innings on Wednesday.
--Top pitching prospect Casey Kelly started for Boston and struck out two in a perfect innings.
--Boston pitchers allowed just two hits and fanned 10, while the offense came up with 15 hits

Atlanta 9, NY Mets 5

--Eddie Kunz surrendered four runs while retiring just one batter Wednesday vs. the Braves.
--Pat Misch allowed one hit over three scoreless innings Wednesday against the Braves.
--Tim Hudson tossed two shutout innings Wednesday in his start versus the Mets.
--Jason Heyward doubled in a run and walked in three plate appearances Wednesday as the Braves beat the Mets 9-5.

NY Yankees 6, Pittsburgh 3

--Jonathan Albaladejo allowed three runs—two earned—without recording an out Wednesday against the Pirates.
--Ramiro Pena hit a solo homer Wednesday in the Yankees’ 6-3 victory over the Pirates.
--Colin Curtis hit a walkoff three-run shot in the bottom of the ninth to end it.

 

Baltimore 12, Tampa Bay 2

--Josh Bell hit a pair of homers to drive in three runs Wednesday in the rout of the Rays.
--After replacing Garrett Atkins at first base, Rhyne Hughes hit a pair of two-run homers Wednesday as the Orioles rolled over the Rays 12-2.
--Miguel Tejada made a fielding error Wednesday afternoon in his first spring game at the third base position.
--Rays prospect outfielder Desmond Jennings left Wednesday’s game against the Orioles in the ninth inning after being hit by a pitch on his left elbow.
--Sean Rodriguez homered and struck out Wednesday in his two at-bats against the Orioles

San Francisco 8, Seattle 7

--Giants prospect Thomas Neal left Wednesday’s game against the Mariners in the sixth inning after being plunked in the head by right-hander Ricky Orta.
--Tim Lincecum yielded three runs—two earned—in an inning Wednesday against the Mariners.
--Aaron Rowand singled twice and scored twice as the Giants’ leadoff man in an 8-7 win over the Mariners on Wednesday.
--Giants prospect was laughing and alert in the Giants’ clubhouse Wednesday, soon after being plunked in the head with a pitch.
--Emmanuel Burriss felt pain in his surgically-repaired foot Wednesday after hitting a double in a spring training game

Marlins 19, Miami (FL) 3

--Hanley Ramirez went 2-for-2 with a three-run homer as the Marlins thrashed the University of Miami 19-3.
--Ricky Nolasco started and threw two scoreless frames before departing.

Boston 6, Boston College 1

--Red Sox infield prospect Jose Iglesias finished 1-for-2 with three RBI in Wednesday’s spring game victory over Boston College.
--The Red Sox jumped on the board in the first inning thanks to a Kevin Youkilis RBI single and added another run in the third when Dustin Pedroia hit into a double play while a batter was on third base.
--Boof Bonser pitched a scoreless inning Wednesday as the Red Sox topped Boston College 6-1 in exhibition play.

Philadelphia 11, Florida State 6

--Dane Sardinha was 1-for-1 with two RBI in Wednesday win.
--J.A. Happ pitched two innings and gave up a hit Wednesday against Florida State in an exhibition game.
