Pete Rose Gets Huge Ovation from Cincinnati Crowd at 2015 MLB All-Star Game


Pete Rose may be one of the most controversial figures in baseball history, but there's no doubt that the city of Cincinnati still loves the all-time hit king.

Major League Baseball revealed each team's "Franchise Four" at the 2015 MLB All-Star Game on Tuesday night. With the Cincinnati Reds hosting the game, they were the last team to have its Franchise Four announced.

That set the stage for a great scene on the field.

Catcher Johnny Bench was the first player announced, followed by shortstop Barry Larkin and second baseman Joe Morgan. Then, it was time for one of the most beloved athletes in Cincinnati sports history.

The Great American Ball Park crowd could not wait for the hometown legend to be announced, chanting "Pete!" as Morgan made his way to the middle of the field. Once Rose was announced, the crowd showed him a ton of love by giving him a standing ovation that lasted for more than one minute.
