Series Preview: Cleveland Indians

David Price makes his debut tonight.

We are going to try something a little different for pregames here at Trop Talk. Instead of a daily pregame, we are going to try series previews to see how that goes. Tell us if you like this style or would rather see the old daily pregames by either leaving comments or reaching us through one of the contacts on the contact page.

So without further ado, lets take a look at the next opponent, the Cleveland Indians.

Probable Starters

David Price, LHP (0-0, -.–) VS. Fausto Carmona, RHP (2-4, 5.74)

Matt Garza, RHP (4-2, 3.41) VS. Carl Pavano, RHP (4-4, 6.10)

Andy Sonnanstine, RHP (3-4, 6.60) VS. Jeremy Sowers, LHP (0-2, 12.00)

Jeff Niemann, RHP (4-3, 4.53) VS. David Huff, LHP (0-1, 17.55)

What To Watch For

I think the most obvious thing to look out for is King David’s season debut tonight. Replacing Kazmir in the rotation right now, Price looks to solidify his spot on the big club his next couple of starts.

With Aki being injured in yesterday’s game, the Rays will look to fill the second base position with different options. Look for Reid Bringac, Willy Aybar, and Ben Zobrist to cover that void till Aki’s return.

X-Factor

The Rays took three out of four the last time they faced the Indians and just came off a series win with the Marlins. Being four games back in the east, watch for the Rays to keep momentum going to Cleveland.
