Takin On the Los Angeles Angels

Has proved to be wild hasn't it?  A 3-1 loss on Friday night with tons of baserunners being left on base all night by both clubs was interesting to watch.  It was exciting and frustrating at the same time with my hopes soaring as the Dodgers would put men on only to feel frustration as they left those runners on to the tune of 26 stranded runners!!! 26!!

But, losses like that while frustrating I don't worry too much about since the bats are still booming so you know its only a matter of time till the runs start piling up again.

This proved to be the case on Saturday night as the Dodgers fought it out with the Angels for 10 innings finally winning 5-4  when Pierre was walked with the bases loaded.  I cheered pretty loudly when this happened for it was a usual Dodger win this season with a late walk-off victory in a unusual manner.

The bats were booming with five runs on 11 hits with the leaders being;
Ethier scoring 2 runs,
Blake with 3 hits,
Martin with 2 RBIs.

Wolf had a rough night giving up 4 runs on 10 hits but Belisario and Broxton put it to the Angels with Broxton 5-0 1.17 getting the win.

With the win last night the first place Dodgers are now 30-14 .682 +8.5.   It has been a great season so far and this is one Dodger fan who is in awe of what I have seen so far.  They seem to find a way to win and while a good number of the wins are blow outs it seems just as many are wild games a like last night with a wild walk off ending.

Is it me or does it just seem like even when things go wrong it turns out right?  This was a trademark of Torre's Yankees for years and he seems to have transferred this type of baseball to LA this season.

This is turning out to be one of my favorite Dodgers team ever. They never say die and find innovative and fun ways to win most days.  So, today at 4:10 pm ET these two teams tangle once again with the starters being Billingsley 6-1 2.51 vs. Palmer 4-0 2.56.  Go get 'em Dodgers!!!!

My apologies for the silence the past couple of days. Please know this will not happen often.  Right now we are in the process of finding great forever homes for a huge litter of Collie puppies and it takes a lot of time to do this.

We will soon be done with the puppies and Dodgers Blue Blog will once again have no lapses in postings.  Thank you for your patience and understanding.  GO DODGERS!!!
