The line of pitchers in the mix for fifth starter for the Atlanta Braves is indeed a very crowded one. The sentimental favorite is future Hall of Famer and Brave icon, Tom Glavine.
Age, injury, durability, are all concerns when the prospect of ole number 47 is on your roster these days. Glavine has a reputation of working from a favorable count, locating, and changing speeds with the best of them, and today was no exception. He was poised, comfortable and above all, healthy, as he held Detroit at bay for the first four innings of work in this spring training.
Tom has a very long season ahead of him. His 43-year-old body has to cooperate if he aims to remain competitive in his farewell tour.
