The Voices of Chicago: The Best and Worst of the Airwaves

You sit on your couch, looking at the clock, waiting in limbo for the hand to hit the number that signals the start of the professional game you have been waiting for all day. You would give anything to be there, but because the ticket price is out of your range, you settle onto the couch with your girlfriend.

After a long day of work, you are tired and want to relax by watching your game. You really enjoy that your girlfriend is making the effort to watch with you, but you could really go without the questions about the game.

"Why is Theriot playing so far to the right," your girlfriend asks. With a sigh, you open your mouth to respond, but then someone interrupts you.

"With Prince Fielder, a notorious pull-hitter, at the plate, Lou Pinella shifts the infield to the right, because more often than not, Fielder will hit the ball in that direction and the shift puts you in best position to make the play."

Your girlfriend nods in content, snuggles back into your nook, and you smile with a glance to the heavens.

It is not divine intervention...it's that man's job to quell any questions the viewer may have. In Chicago, some are better than others, and you may need a guide if you want a quiet, or raucous, evening with your girl and your game.
