Young Fan Protects Fellow Kids by Snagging Home Run Ball as Dad Shields Himself

Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera clubbed a home run in the bottom of the eighth inning of Tuesday night's game against the Toronto Blue Jays.

If not for a kid with a glove, a couple of youngsters could have gotten hit by the baseball. And it's all because an adult (we'll call him "Dad,") who wanted no part of the ball.

As the baseball made its way over the right field wall and into the first row, Dad bailed on the play and shielded himself—leaving two youngsters unprotected.

Luckily, there was a kid with a glove who was able to snag the ball.

It was a heck of a play by the young fan to make the catch without getting up from his seat. And it was a catch that protected a couple of kids and earned him some high-fives.
