2010 MLB Predictions: What I Expect From Jim Edmonds

Just two seasons ago, the Brewers were loaded with outfielders both on the roster and in their minor league system. They had names like Braun, Cameron, Hart, Gwynn Jr., and Gabe Gross on the roster.

In just two years time, the outfield has seen a major overhaul. Mike Cameron was allowed to leave via free agency this winter, Tony Gwynn Jr. was traded for Jody Gerut, and Gross was dealt as well.

Adeiny Hechevarria Free to Sign, Yankees Interested

According to Jorge Arangure of ESPN, Cuban shortstop Adeiny Hechevarria has been “unblocked” by the Office of Foreign Assets Control, and is now free to sign with any major league team.

The consensus right now is that the 19-year-old could earn as much as $10 million, which would be more than the $8.2 million the Red Sox recently paid Jose Iglesias this winter.

2010 MLB Preview: NL Central—2. Chicago Cubs

This continues my 2010 MLB preview. I intend to touch on every team in the major leagues in installments by division. The lineups I provide will be what I predict will be the most productive for each team for the MAJORITY of the season (e.g., Jason Heyward will be listed as the Braves RF even though he may not begin the season as the starter).

I will also provide the stereotypical letter grade to each team's lineup, rotation, bullpen, and depth/bench. Though it is trite, I think all baseball fans can identify with the letter grade system.

2010 MLB Season Preview: Cleveland Indians

These aren't the Cleveland Indians from a few years ago.  This team has been gutted by trades, from Cy Young winners C.C. Sabathia and Cliff Lee to dealing Victor Martinez to the Boston Red Sox.  The 2010 edition of the Cleveland Indians will be very young and not very deep.

New York Mets Preview: Get to These 2010 Games, and Get There Early

Single-game tickets for New York Mets' regular season home games go on sale on Sunday at 10 a.m.

Among the games on offer for 2010 are 30 games against NL East rivals (including nine games against the Philadelphia Phillies), matchups with five of the six division winners from 2009, and three sets of much-anticipated interleague matchups.

Phil Hughes, Joba Chamberlain Struggle in Spring Debuts for Yankees

If the competition for the Yankees' No. 5 starter's spot is truly a five-man race, frontrunners Joba Chamberlain and Phil Hughes would currently rank fourth and fifth on the depth chart.

After Chad Gaudin, Sergio Mitre and Alfredo Aceves each turned in two scoreless innings of work in Wednesday's spring opener against the Pirates, Hughes and Chamberlain both struggled in their first outings on Friday.

The Arizona Diamondbacks: All-Decade Team (2000-2009)

The Arizona Diamondbacks entered their first full decade as a team with the fifth highest payroll in the league. In 2001, just their fourth year in existence, they won one of the most emotional world series in the history of the game.

But after ten years of entertaining baseball fans everywhere, the D'Backs could not be a more different franchise from the one that came back and beat the Yankees in seven games.

From the fifth highest payroll in 2000 to the twentieth in 2009. From Jerry Colangelo to Ken Kendrick. From Joe Garagiola to Josh Byrnes. From Bob Brenly to A.J. Hinch.

MLB: Every Spring Training Game Recap (Satire)

In front of a sellout crowd of 10 and videotaped with a video camera from 1988, some player you actually heard of pitched two good innings, giving up just nine runs on 12 hits to go along with 10 walks.

"I literally just threw fastballs over and over again," player you heard of said. "Wait, there's how many more spring training games?"

Pitching the other seven innings were players numbered 80 to 100 with one guy whose jersey simply said "Who cares?" on the back of it.

Fantasy Baseball Spring Storylines: March 4 (Wright, Pence, and More)

With Spring Training games in full swing out in Arizona, there are plenty of storylines worth noting and position battles brewing.  Let’s take a look at what’s going on:

Is Adam Dunn Really a Fantasy Baseball One-Trick Pony?

You look at Adam Dunn, and there’s one thing that comes to mind: home runs.  That’s it.  That’s really all you need to know about him, isn’t it?  Is he really that type of one-trick pony?

Before answering that question, we need to look at a few things:
