With three weeks of the regular season now in the books, it's becoming evident that this could be one heck of a roller-coaster season for the Baltimore Orioles. The Orioles lost five straight games but then busted out in Sunday's contest against the Boston Red Sox, scoring 18 runs.

Defensive errors and mental mistakes have plagued the Orioles so far this season, and all of their losing woes have seemingly come at their own hand.

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher Chris Archer tossed seven shutout innings during Sunday's 5-1 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, setting a franchise record by going a fourth consecutive start without allowing an earned run, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu played the 162nd game of his career Sunday against the Kansas City Royals, allowing him to join Rudy York, Chuck Klein and Ryan Braun as the only players in MLB history with a .300 batting average, 40 home runs and 120 RBI through 162 games, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Max Scherzer has been one of the most durable pitchers in baseball since 2009, but the Washington Nationals ace is dealing with a sprained right thumb.

During a game between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Saturday, protests in the city of Baltimore caused Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake to urge fans at the stadium to remain there for the time being.

In an unexpected move on Saturday, the Toronto Blue Jays released left-hander Ricky Romero, per Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com.

Romero was in the final year of a five-year contract and was set to earn $7.5 million this season. The Blue Jays will have to pay that amount in full along with a $600,000 buyout fee for Romero’s $13.1 club option in 2016.

The Arizona Diamondbacks had a relatively busy offseason entering 2015. Besides cleaning house in several areas of management, they made a number of acquisitions via signings and trades that have had an impact thus far.

The D-backs sit at 8-8 entering Saturday and have showed signs of improvement from their abysmal 2014 campaign. Some of the new players have assisted in that regard.

After a strong debut season with the Boston Red Sox, Shane Victorino had a 2014 to forget and has struggled out of the gate to begin 2015. His year suffered another setback Saturday as the veteran outfielder headed to the disabled list with a hamstring injury.

The Mariners announced that Iwakuma is expected to miss two-to-four weeks with a grade one strain of his right lat.
