Just as we were all geared up to see the third game of the American League Championship Series between the Kansas City Royals and Baltimore Orioles on Monday night, Mother Nature had to interfere. Some inclement weather rolled into town, and the game was postponed as a result.

Weeks of enthralling exposition during the MLB postseason has fans geared up for the upcoming World Series climax. The final slate will have a big bar to match in order to not disappoint.

The St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants are chock-full of playoff experience, and through two National League Championship Series contests, these squads are even. Speaking of experience, starters John Lackey and Tim Hudson—at a combined age of 74—are set to take the mound in Game 3.

Expect this roller-coaster ride to continue.

Due to the past success of the St. Louis Cardinals and San Francisco Giants in October, we already knew the National League Championship Series would be a fight to the bitter end. Through two games of compelling baseball, that thought looms large.

Part of the beauty of the postseason is discovery. So here's a piece of advice: It is not necessary to wait all the way until February before sending your new crush, Lorenzo Cain, a Valentine's Day greeting. Jarrod Dyson, Terrance Gore and Mike Moustakas? Them, too.   

Kansas City is, after all, the corporate home of Hallmark Cards, Inc.

After a 29-year exile from October, the Kansas City Royals are on the verge of sweeping past the Los Angeles Angels and storming into the American League Championship Series. 

The Royals are taking apart the Angels, the team with the best record in the regular season, thanks to a combination of unreal speed, perfectly timed home runs and lights-out pitching. With Game 3 of the American League Division Series looming at 6:37 p.m. ET on Sunday at Kauffman Stadium in Kansas City, the Angels are sitting in an 0-2 hole.

If you need proof of how fickle and unpredictable baseball can be, all you have to do is look at what happened on Friday with Clayton Kershaw getting lit up, Kansas City getting an extra-inning homer for the second-straight day and Delmon Young getting another big postseason hit. 

The first two days of the American and National League Division Series have lived up to the expectations of the fans, but with Day 3 of the MLB playoffs schedule full of intense action, the anticipation continues to climb.
