The Washington Nationals signed pitcher Mat Latos to a minor league contract on Wednesday, manager Dusty Baker confirmed to Dan Kolko of MASN.  

Baker noted that the move was primarily for depth, per Mark Zuckerman of MASN:

Kansas City Royals outfielder Lorenzo Cain is dealing with a hamstring injury, and the team announced Wednesday he was placed on the 15-day disabled list.

Cincinnati Reds outfielder Billy Hamilton exited Wednesday's game against the Chicago Cubs in the first inning, according to C. Trent Rosecrans of the Cincinnati Enquirer.

It's happening a year later than they would have liked, but Wil Myers has become a star for the San Diego Padres in 2016.
