That's Just Wrong: The Filthiest Major League Pitches of 2010

With 2010 being "The Year of the Pitcher" it seemed high time someone threw together a list of the nastiest pitches from the season.

This list isn't based on any statistical evidence, merely on my opinion and observations.

Credit for my inspiration for this list goes to Joel Reuter who compiled a similar list in 2009.

Minnesota Twins 2011: 5 Trades That Help Get the Twins To October Baseball

The Twins haven't won a World Series since the 1991 team beat the Bobby Cox led Braves. Ever since then it has been quite a rocky road for the team in the Twin Cities. In the playoffs, they have gone 6-21 since 2002 and 0-9 since 2004. Their most hated postseason opponents are clearly the New York Yankees, who have eliminated them the last two times the Twins have made the playoffs (2009 and 2010).

MLB Power Rankings: Rating Felix Hernandez and the 25 Best Pitchers 25 and Under

Felix Hernandez will make two more big-league starts for the Seattle Mariners before turning 25 years old on April 8. For a guy who still has not reached that age, Hernandez has posted phenomenal numbers already in his career. He won his first American League Cy Young Award in 2010, hurling 249.2 innings and posting a stellar 2.27 ERA.

MLB Power Rankings: The 25 Best Power Pitchers in Baseball

There is nothing more intimidating for a hitter than being started down by a power pitcher who can blow a fastball right by them. Fans also get excited as these pitchers light up the radar gun and rack up the strikeouts.

The rankings on this list will be determined a combination of the pitchers' talents, stats, and their ability to bring the heat.

Fantasy Baseball Draft Day Decisions: Roy Halladay or Felix Hernandez

As we head towards our fantasy drafts for 2011, there’s a debate raging as to who should be the first pitcher off the board.

Sure, you may get the occasional person who prefers Tim Lincecum, but for most the decision comes down to the 2010 Cy Young Award winners: Roy Halladay and Felix Hernandez.

Who should be the first pitcher off the board on draft day? Let’s break it down category-by-category and see:

MLB Rumors: 10 Felix Hernandez Trade Packages That May Change Seattle's Mind

Let me start by saying that, while it's non-zero, the chances of Felix Hernandez being traded this winter are pretty small.

Felix has stated many times that he loves Seattle. He has a no-trade clause that we know includes the Yankees. We don't know the other teams, but the team that may be the most willing to give up a huge package is probably out of the running.

MLB Rumors: 5 Pitchers on the Yankees' Christmas Wish List

After getting spurned by top free agents from Cliff Lee to Carl Crawford and failing to make a trade for an impact arm such as Zack Greinke, the New York Yankees currently sit as a team that is certainly no better than last year's version, and may be even worse.

If the Yankees cannot entice longtime great Andy Pettitte out of retirement, the rotation could feature multiple minor leaguers and castaways.

Best of 2010: Power Ranking the Year's 50 Best MLB Players

The New Year is quickly approaching, and as baseball fans pour over the latest Hot Stove news, now is as good a time as any to look back at the 2010 season.

From a bevy of great pitching performances, to an unlikely home run king, to the Giants improbable World Series run, the 2010 season was a memorable one.

So here are the top 50 players from the 2010 season, from the subjective view of one sports writer. I welcome you to inform me where you disagree with my rankings, as this is certainly up for debate.

Fantasy Baseball Top 20 Starting Pitchers for 2011: Cliff Lee Fallout

The surprising decision of Cliff Lee signing with the Phillies ultimately had a major impact on our early starting pitcher rankings.  He always was going to be considered one of the better options in the league for 2011, but now he appears to be a borderline Top 5 option.  Let’s see where he ultimately falls, as well as all the rest in our updated rankings.
