MLB's 20 Ghosts of Twitter Past: What the Game's Greats Would Have Said

In today's day and age, Twitter has allowed baseball fans all across the country and all over the world to follow their favorite Major Leaguer every step of the way.

The legends of the game never had this opportunity to be followed by thousands of their die-hard fans, leaving only our imaginations to decipher what the game's greats would have tweeted after a monumental moment in their baseball careers had taken place.

Can you imagine what Babe Ruth's reaction would've been after being sold to the New York Yankees in 1920?

Rich Harden Heads to Texas Rangers' DL

With the news that the Texas Rangers placed RHP Rich Harden on the 15-day DL with a stained glut, we might have an Oliver Perez Part Deux on our hands.

In case you aren’t following the Oliver Perez reference, I will explain.

The New York Mets were desperate to get Perez off their active roster, so they put him on the 15-day DL with right patella tendinitis. The reality is, they put him on the DL for sucking, which is a no-no by Major League Baseball standards.

Biggest Pitching Flops So Far in 2010

Kevin Millwood, pictured here, is 0-8 with a 5.91 ERA after his first 14 starts of the 2010 season after being traded to the Baltimore Orioles.

The 2010 baseball season has not been kind to the Baltimore Orioles, and a big part of their failure has been Kevin Millwood failing to win a game this season. His 0-8 record and 5.91 ERA were not what the Orioles expected when acquiring him in a trade that sent Chris Ray and Ben Snyder to the Texas Rangers.

MLB Inside Edition: Ranking the Most Desirable Dirty Dozen Artifacts

Last week, a historic piece of baseball memorabilia officially was put up for auction to the highest bidder. The 34-inch Mizuno bat was used by banished former star Pete Rose in 1986 when he recorded his final and major league record 4,256th hit of his career.

Daniel Nava: Indy MVP And GBL Star Makes Boston Red Sox History

The Golden Baseball League seems to have this habit of generating headlines in a sport dominated by A-Rod, Derek Jeter, and the New York Yankees.

On Saturday afternoon, during the Fox Saturday Game of the Week, the Boston Red Sox were playing host to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Nothing out of the ordinary, except that the Phillies are in dangerous team slump where hitting and pitching have seemingly affected everyone.

Upcoming Yankees Series Could Bring Hope for Phillies

While it was nice to see the Phillies leave Boston on a positive note with a 5-3 win against the Red Sox, it's difficult not to look ahead and dread the Phils' three-game series in New York against the red-hot Yankees.

The two teams have been on two completely different paths this season, as the Yankees have seemingly breezed their way to an impressive 40-23 record, while the Phillies are struggling for every single run—much less a win.

The 10 MLB Feats We Will Never See Again

Throughout each and every MLB season, the discussion always seems to arise over the next great feat to be achieved by a single player.

These feats are also—more often than not—indelible marks in the record books that sometimes seem unbreakable.

But within the mix of these conversations are also discussions about giant feats in baseball that will NEVER happen again, and I put together a Top Ten list highlighting some of these feats.

I realize in sports that anything is possible, and you may find one or two here that almost happened, but most of you should agree that this list is

Fantasy Baseball Around the Majors, June 13: Strasburg, Fielder and More

Stephen Strasburg was impressive, but not quite as impressive in his second career start.  Prince Fielder continues to hit home runs, but is not driving in runs.  Zack Greinke turned back the clock to 2009.  Let’s look at these stories and all the rest from yesterday’s games:

MLB Week 11 Power Rankings: The Strasburg Show

So how did the most hyped debut in Major League history end up? I think he did alright. Stephen Strasburg reached 101 mph on the radar gun. He fanned 14 batters and had zero walks. Most importantly, we got a W.

You could tell just how great Strasburg's stuff was by reading the body language of those around home plate. Time after time, the knees of Pirates' hitters buckled when Strasburg threw curveballs, and time after time, Pirates hitters were whiffing badly.

On Sunday he picked up his second major league victory over the Indians. It's safe to say he has passed the test so far.

MLB Should Not Follow NCAA Football Realignment Lead

The NCAA is powerless to stop the complete destruction of the Big 12. Nebraska has already joined the Big Ten (now the new Big 12 - or maybe Big 16 soon), and teams such as Texas, Syracuse, Pittsburgh and others could soon follow.

Other teams are being courted by the Pac 10.

These big conferences are doing it for money, to create new rivalries, and gain leverage over other conferences with regards to bowl games and TV contracts (i.e. more money).
