The 2010 Rays are being touted as the most talented team in team history. Players like Evan Longoria, Carl Crawford, Jason Bartlett, and Carlos Pena head the list. But there are other players who are on the cusp of getting the same name recognition.

Here are five players who are about to shine this season.

Over the last 15 years, Derek Jeter, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, and Andy Pettitte have made up the "Yankees Core" of the roster, mostly because they are popular players who were home-grown products out of the Yankees system.

In 2010, one of the core players may be playing in his final season.

In an interview with YES Network's Jack Curry, Pettitte dropped hints that this upcoming season may in fact be the final one for the left-hander.

(1) New York Yankees—the reigning world champions are the team to beat. They've got the best offensive infield in Mark Teixeira, Robinson Cano, Derek Jeter , and Alex Rodriguez . Acquisitions of Curtis Granderson, Nick Johnson, and Javier Vazquez still need time to be judged.

The 2010 baseball rookie class is very deep filled with future All-Stars, and a few players that could one day be enshrined in Cooperstown.

There will be players that have great rookie campaigns, only to see a drop off in production in the next few years.

Opening Day 2010 is less than 72 hours away, which means most fantasy drafts have been completed. Judging by average draft positions on Mock Draft Central , fantasy owners are allowing certain sleeper candidates to go undrafted. One of those guys is Drew Stubbs , who has a current average draft position of 311.40.
