The 2015 Gold Glove award winners were announced on Tuesday night, and as always, there were a few surprises among the 18 players who will be adding awards to their trophy rooms.

The Kansas City Royals had three winners—Salvador Perez, Eric Hosmer and Alcides Escobar—which was no surprise given that defense played a major role en route to a World Series title.

The last vestige of Major League Baseball in 2015 is here in the form of the Baseball Writers' Association of America awards that will be handed out starting on Nov. 16. 

As has been the case since 2012, three award finalists from each league have been announced in four categories, including Rookie of the Year, Manager of the Year, Cy Young and Most Valuable Player.

Chris Herrmann to Diamondbacks: Latest Trade Details, Comments and Reaction

On Tuesday, the Arizona Diamondbacks acquired utility man Chris Herrmann from the Minnesota Twins for minor league outfielder Daniel Palka, according to Diamondbacks commentator Steve Berthiaume

Herrmann appeared in 43 games for the Twins during the 2015 season, batting .146 with two home runs and 10 RBI. At 27 years old, he has never appeared in more than 57 games in a single major league season.
