After tossing a no-hitter against the Pittsburgh Pirates last weekend, Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning in Friday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies, making him the first pitcher since Dwight Gooden in May 1996 to throw 16 consecutive no-hit innings, per Elias Sports Bureau (via ESPN Stats & Info).

The time to reconsider some things is upon us.

The Major League Baseball season is nearly three months old and is just shy of the halfway mark for games played. Through the 70-plus games already in the book for each team, there have been pleasant surprises and disappointments.

Whether playing an afternoon or night slate, daily fantasy gamers should have little trouble locating enticing position players. The crowd of mediocre pitchers, however, also means DraftKings contestants should pay up for two high-level options.

While Saturday usually features plenty of contest options for daily fantasy baseball players, you might want to make sure to get in early on June 27.
