A disappointing Seattle Mariners team will have to play much better in the second half of the season than it did in the first half to have any shot at making the postseason.

Through 70 games, the Mariners sit at a lowly 32-38. That's 8.5 games behind the surprising Houston Astros in the American League West, and six teams currently stand between Seattle and the second wild card.

Having a conversation (or an argument) on the Internet with fans of opposing teams can be frustrating because not everybody makes it easy on the reader, whether their comments are nonsensical or just contain poor grammar.

Travis d'Arnaud has seemingly been snakebit when it comes to injuries throughout his career. The New York Mets catcher came off the disabled list a little over a week ago, and now he's day-to-day following another issue.

That asking price isn’t looking so outrageous right now.

Washington Nationals pitcher Max Scherzer was one strike away from throwing a perfect game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday when he beaned Jose Tabata. Scherzer got the next batter to fly out, giving him a no-hitter and the Nationals a 6-0 victory. 

Many fans are angry because it looked like Tabata leaned in with his elbow, erasing what would have been MLB's 24th perfect game in history. 

After flirting with perfection in his previous start, Washington Nationals ace Max Scherzer went one step further by throwing a no-hitter against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday with 10 strikeouts and no walks.

Cincinnati Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco will undergo hip surgery on June 29 and will miss the remainder of the 2015 season.

A hungry pigeon apparently couldn't find any food on Friday night, so it decided to check out the infield at Coors Field. This normally wouldn't have been a problem, but the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies were in the middle of a game. 

The pigeon was stationed in front of Brewers second basemen Hernan Perez and wouldn't move. Perez tried to shoo off the bird, but he had no luck.

Alex Rodriguez homered for his 3,000th career hit against the Detroit Tigers on Friday night at Yankee Stadium off Justin Verlander. The New York Yankees slugger became just the 29th player in MLB history to reach that milestone.
