The 2015 Major League Baseball season begins Sunday night. That means we're very close to watching the game's best players doing the things they do.

With that in mind, we better get on the same page about who the game's best players are. It's time for a good old-fashioned Internet ranking.

GLENDALE, Arizona – New season. New twists. New rules?

Allow me to nominate the first-ever walkup song for a commissioner. That's right. For new commissioner Rob Manfred, a clip from John Mellencamp's "Minutes to Memories":

The San Francisco Giants embark on the 2015 campaign with one goal in mind: They want to defend their World Series title and win it again.

The baseball season is a long, arduous process, which makes the Giants' three world championships in the past five years a tremendous accomplishment.

After winning the NL West each of the last two seasons, the Los Angeles Dodgers head into 2015 as the clear favorites in the division. They are an excellent team—projected to win 91 games by FanGraphs—and are chock-full of exciting storylines and impact players who are fun to watch.

It's no secret that the Chicago White Sox had an impressive, efficient offseason. A lot of attention went to their additions of right-hander Jeff Samardzija, closer David Robertson, outfielder Melky Cabrera, first baseman Adam LaRoche and even lefty reliever Zach Duke. And deservedly so.

Aside from starting pitcher Clayton Kershaw, no player may mean more to the Los Angeles Dodgers than outfielder Yasiel Puig. Losing him to injury is about the last thing the team needs to happen.

The Atlanta Braves improved their rotation on Thursday, acquiring former Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Trevor Cahill in a trade.

The Braves tweeted news of the deal that will send minor league outfielder Josh Elander to Arizona in exchange for Cahill and cash considerations.

The Boston Red Sox's outfield crunch was billed as one of the spring's hottest storylines. In the end, it wound up less an epic battle and more a peacefully negotiated ceasefire.

Despite Opening Day rapidly approaching, plenty of MLB teams are still scanning the market for last-minute pieces that can make an impact in the 2015 season. With plenty of action expected before Sunday's first pitch, let's see if we can play matchmaker and unite potential trade partners in win-win deals. 

Many of the moves we could see between now and Opening Day involve players in limbo with their current clubs.
