After just one season, the Baltimore Orioles may be ready to part ways with starting pitcher Ubaldo Jimenez.

According to MLB.com's Tracy Ringolsby, via MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli, the O's are actively shopping the 30-year-old veteran:

On the surface, Matt Williams and Buck Showalter have a lot in common: They're both former corner infielders (though Showalter never cracked a big league roster), they're both managers of Beltway-based clubs and, now, they're both 2014 Manager of the Year winners.

For the first time in more than two decades, the Pittsburgh Pirates have made headlines for seemingly all the right reasons, going from perennial losers to championship contenders after making the postseason in each of the last two seasons.  

Can we properly say that the Pirates truly have been a legitimate contender for a World Series title though?

The Baseball Writer's Association of America announced the 2014 Manager of the Year awards Tuesday evening, as Matt Williams of the Washington Nationals won in the National League and Buck Showalter of the Baltimore Orioles won in the American League.

With a top-heavy free-agent class and some obvious holes to fill, the Seattle Mariners figure to be interested in some of the premier players available on the market.

First-year manager Matt Williams guided the Washington Nationals to a 17-game triumph in the National League East in 2014. It was a major turnaround for the talent-laden squad and was enough to earn the longtime third baseman National League Manager of the Year honors.
