An otherwise promising season for the Houston Astros took a turn for the worse after top prospect Carlos Correa suffered a leg injury during a Single-A game for the Lancaster JetHawks.

JetHawks broadcaster Jason Schwartz reported that Correa had to be carted off the field and was in a visible amount of pain:

It's safe to say that the Baltimore Orioles were hot on Saturday against the New York Yankees.

The Orioles hit four home runs, but no one felt more relieved after his HR than J.J. Hardy. He hit his first homer of the year, but as he went back into the dugout, his teammates gave him the silent treatment. To congratulate himself, Hardy started to throw sunflower seeds and give himself high-fives.

This may just be one of the worst defensive plays of the MLB season.

During Saturday's game between the Milwaukee Brewers and Colorado Rockies, the Brewers had the bases loaded in the top of the third. Rockies pitcher Christian Friedrich proceeded to throw a wild pitch, driving in a run. Catcher Michael McKenry then tried to throw back to Friedrich, missing the target for a second run to come home.

Joe Panik is currently on a plane headed to Arizona, where he will meet up with the San Francisco Giants and likely make his major league debut in the coming days. 

At the trade deadline, the most important thing a team can have is assets. However, the second most important thing to have at the deadline is a trade partner. The Chicago Cubs have plenty of trade assets they seem willing to move and plenty of teams interested in those assets. 

With just over a month left until the trade deadline, plenty of moves could be made, and the Cubs seem like prime candidates to distribute talent to a bunch of contending teams.

Baseball is a game of focus, but it's kind of hard to pay attention when thousands of bugs are fluttering around you.

Celebrating her 101st birthday, Rosemary Depler from Peoria, Illinois, got the chance to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at Busch Stadium on Friday night. As a St. Louis Cardinals fan, she's just 13 years younger than the team, but has gotten to see all 11 of its World Series titles.

With a 39-33 record, numerous injuries and a lineup crowded by hitters performing below expectations, it is scary to imagine where the New York Yankees would be without rookies Masahiro Tanaka, Yangervis Solarte, Dellin Betances and Chase Whitley.

We are closing in on the midway point of the 2014 MLB season, and the entire postseason picture still appears to be wide open in both leagues, as no team has really separated itself from the pack at this point.

The Oakland Athletics look like the best team in the American League by a decent margin, while a recent slide by the San Francisco Giants has left the National League without a clear top dog, though the Milwaukee Brewers have been consistent atop the NL Central all season.
