Yanks Yukking It Up For Once! Still Need To Do Work In Pen

This is almost a follow up article. When I say almost, I say it because I wrote about confidence in my last one. It seemed that they were lacking in this department. Girardi finally let loose his Old Joe Torre stoic crap and became one of the guys like he used to be. He played with Jeter, Posada, and Mo.

The Real Top Ten Hottest Players in Baseball

I am a woman who has been accused of being more passionate about baseball than I am about my past boyfriends.  That may be true (where are you, Mr. Right?) but it does not mean I am unable to spot a smokin' hot baseball player when I see one.

Ken Griffey Jr. Proves All Was Not Lost in the Steroid Era

With Alex Rodriguez and Manny Ramirez the latest superstars to fall into the steroid cloud, everyone is now looking at the current group of young stars trying to find the one to break the 'roid records and restore a sense of legitimacy to baseball's record book.

Why look for someone down the road when baseball has a future hall of fame player winding down a stellar career without needing, much less using the juice; which seemed to flow like Kool-Aid in clubhouses around baseball for far too long.

Despite Short-Term Pain, Baltimore Orioles Must Stay With Long-Term Plan

As I watch the New York Yankees erupt for another night of offensive fireworks against the Baltimore Orioles under-whelming pitching staff, I’m tempted to pound out a column imploring team president Andy MacPhail to forget about his plan and go find some pitching NOW.

Then, after I take a few deep breaths and let the blood flow back to my brain, I realize that this is one of the rare cases in professional sports where you can’t dwell on the current win-loss record.

My Take On The Mets: Their Problem Lies at First Base

As of now, all us Mets fans have heard that, first baseman, Carlos Delgado is going to be out with an injury for around ten weeks.  With that news there are many people saying what the Mets should do.

Everybody's opinion differs.  I believe that the Mets should stay in the organization.  To me, there's no reason to trade away right now.  Some of the biggest names for the Mets to get outside of the organization are, Russel Branyan, Nick Johnson, and Aubrey Huff.

Pablo Sandoval Proving He Can Be Giants' Long-Term Answer at Third Base

In the days following the spring semester and the end of my college career, the task of killing time has been something that has become increasingly difficult as the days go by.

Showing Love To Scott Schoeneweis; We Are With You

Guys, this is going to be short. I just really feel like BR needs to say something after the death of Scott Schoeneweis's wife today. Not many pepole noticed this before the game, but there was one man not in the bullpen for the D-Backs.

As a Met fan, I have got to see Scott pitch and now I feel a bit closer to him and a bit sorrier for him after his big lose.

This will look like a letter to Scott from me and hopefully the rest of BR, but this is more a way for me to connect to Scott and the rest of his family.

Fenway Faithful Rise Above for Big Papi

Perhaps it was that the AL East leading Blue Jays were in town. Perhaps it was that a rather tough West Coast trip had just ended and it was nice to have the guys back in the friendly confines. Or maybe it had something to do with the need to keep warm with a first pitch temperature around 60 degrees.

Whatever it was, the fans at Fenway park were in a good mood on Tuesday evening.  They were active, animated, and involved in a game that was, for the most part, a real yawner. But nowhere was their mood more evident than in their services performed on behalf of David Ortiz.

A Look at Progressive Field: Cleveland, Ohio

Opened as Jacobs Field in 1994, the Indians moved from the massive Cleveland Municipal stadium (you might remember it from such movies as Major League and Major League II).

After 13 years of being named Jacobs Field, the stadium officially changed its name to Progressive Field in 2008 (and yes, pretty much everyone hates it). It was an immediate success and until recently, as it held the major league record for sellouts at 455 (the listed capacity for the stadium is 43,345).

Tough Roster Choices Loom for the San Francisco Giants

The Giants sent Kevin Frandsen down to Triple-A Fresno before the start of the season as one of the final roster cuts. He played like he belonged, but Emmanuel Burriss earned the starting second base job with a .345 spring batting average and some good defense.
