AL Power Rankings: Toronto, Texas Move Toward the Top

1. Boston Red Sox (21-14, 1st LW)

They're the best team in baseball despite having to deal with a slew of injuries. This Red Sox team has more depth than any squad in a long time, which will continue to come into play throughout the season.

2. Toronto Blue Jays (23-13, 3rd LW)

Come To Think of It: Which Players from the "Steroid Era" Make the HOF?

So we're all a bit sick of reading about steroids. OK, I get that. But allow me to indulge one more time and I swear this time, it will be a fun debate.

Which of the so-called "Steroid Era" players should make the Hall of Fame?

There are players that got caught, and then there are players that we strongly suspect used steroids, yet don't have the proof.

The question is, without the smoking gun, so to speak, who do you let into the HOF from this era and who do you keep out?

San Diego Padres Report Card: Starters

After a 9-3 start, including solid bullpen outings from the likes of Cla Meredith and Duaner Sanchez, it looked like the Padres were going to prove all their skeptics wrong.

But, the Padres are 4-18 since then and their bullpen continues to struggle. Though you could say it's their inexperience, that excuse won't last much longer for Kevin Towers and company.

So, with that in mind, it's time to pass out grades as well as honorable and dishonorable mentions for this San Diego Padres' pitching staff.

Fantasy Baseball: Starting Pitchers Soon to Be Back in Action

If you have been waiting on the return of players like Ervin Santana and Chris Carpenter, your wait is almost over.

There are a number of good pitchers who will soon be coming off of the disabled list to help out your fantasy teams. Most of them are probably owned, but if not, you can be the first to the waiver wire to place your claim on them.

Here is a list of starting pitchers who will soon be activated by their respective major league clubs:

Fantasy Baseball: Tuesday News and Notes

I started writing these posts literally a year ago. The whole endeavor started simply because I wanted a place to put my thoughts down.

Three Up, Three Down: Fantasy Hitters Weekly

"Three Up, Three Down" is our Tuesday topic at the sportspa.blogspot.com during the MLB season. In these articles, we attempt to showcase three of the hottest hitters in baseball, and also three players whose fantasy stock has taken a hit.

These players are Up/Down in my eyes.

The Fish Have Been Caught in a Snag

The Florida Marlins were off to a hot 13-1 start and playing well until they ran into the Pittsburgh Pirates.  Obviously, the Pirates’ advance scouts saw holes in Bonifacio’s swing as the Bucs handcuffed both Hanley Ramirez and Emilio Bonifacio.

The Marlins have been struggling to get wins from their rotation as they went through 20 straight games without a win from a starter, 14 short of the Major League record.

Flamethrowers: A Look at MLB's Hot Pitchers

In the past few days, there have been some great performances from some undervalued pitchers. So I put together a tribute to some of those guys. All of the percent owned information was found using ESPN's fantasy baseball system.

My Favorite Baseball Quotes, Vol.1

Baseball is not just a game, it can also be the point of some very good humor.

This is the first volume of my favorite baseball quotes. I hope you get a kick out of them as much as I did. I am still laughing at the Satchel Paige quotes.

The one about Aaron's advice to Dusty Baker when facing Bob Gibson is one of the funniest things I've ever heard.

Take a look and have fun with it.
