Padres-Brewers: Wade "LeBlank" Brews Shutout

It was "singles night" at PETCO Park Thursday night for the San Diego Padres, as they battered the Brewers with 13 singles, with no extra-base hits, to a final score of 9-0.

Who says singles can't have a good time?

Wade LeBlanc continued dishing donuts and combined with Tim Stauffer for a shutout of the normally slugging Brew Crew.

LeBlanc pitched 6.1 shutout innings, continuing his current streak of just one run allowed over his past 17.1 innings pitched

Padres-Marlins: Friars Fry Fish, Earn Fourth Straight Series Win

Although it was not at the San Diego Marlin Club’s weigh station on Shelter Island, the Padres were all smiles after landing two of three from the Marlins in Miami.

Fueled by a five-run fifth inning, the Friars picked up Kevin Correia and edged out a 6-4 victory.

After sweeping Arizona and San Francisco at home, Wednesday’s matinee gave the Padres a 4-2 road trip.

Is April too early for a division race?

Can Kyle Blanks Protect Adrian Gonzalez in the San Diego Padres Lineup?

With one out left in the top of the ninth inning in Monday’s season opener against the Diamondbacks, Adrian Gonzalez and Kyle Blanks were not satisfied.

Trailing 6-1, the afternoon appeared all but squandered with little positive to take into game two Tuesday.

That changed when Gonzalez stepped to the plate.

Trade Adrian Gonzalez? Why on Earth Would the San Diego Padres Do That?

As they did throughout last week's winter meetings, rumors continue to swirl today about a potential trade between the Boston Red Sox and San Diego Padres.

The proposed swap would send San Diego's two-time All-Star first baseman, Adrian Gonzalez, to Boston in exchange for what would presumably be a package of top prospects.

Hot Stove Rumors: Adrian Gonzalez the Focus of Padres-White Sox-Angels Talks

Rumors have been flying about him since the trade deadline last July. Padre fans, as well as the San Diego media, sat on the edge of their seats as the hours and minutes ticked away, wondering if Adrian Gonzalez was about to be traded.

The deadline came, and the news that followed shocked everybody when it was learned that it was Jake Peavy that had been dealt and not Gonzalez.

Now that the offseason is in full swing, the Gonzalez rumors have started to fly once more—though this time they don't involve the Boston Red Sox.

JC's Dodger Line Drives | July 3: Dodgers Dominate in Manny's Return

The Los Angeles Dodgers welcomed Manny Ramirez back into the starting lineup, at a sold-out Petco Park in San Diego.

Dodger fans made the trip south en masse, at times out-vocalizing the home town Padre fans, to welcome back their slugging outfielder from his 50-game banishment for violating baseball's PED rules.

In his first at bat, Manny drew a walk in the middle of a Dodger five-run outburst, which pretty much ended the game as soon as it started.

Fantasy Baseball Tonight 6/19

Derrek Lee hit two homers on the day today, bringing his season total to ten. Anyone who has read this blog at all knows that I am very anti-D-Lee. He had that one great year, and has basically been a good average guy with little power that ends up on the DL a lot. Matches his initials, isn’t that cute?

He is having a pretty good season, but he hasn’t really been injured yet, and I still would not touch him.  If you have him, I would try to cash in on this time and see if you can trade him for someone a little more safe.

Outreach of Hope: The Dave Dravecky Story—Relay for Life Part Two

"As time passes, my story fades away."

Dave Dravecky made his major-league debut with the San Diego Padres on June 15th, 1982.

Prospect Report: Kyle Blanks, San Diego Padres

Every season there is a sizable list of prospects who appear primed to make a major impact in the major leagues, but the team has no place to use them.  “Blocked prospect” is a phrase we’ve all heard, and it definitely applies to the Padres first baseman Kyle Blanks.  All he has to overcome in order to be slotted into the middle of the Padres lineup is Adrian Gonzalez, one of the best players in baseball.
