Texas Rangers

Should the Texas Rangers' Michael Young Be an All-Star?

We are officially less than a week away from the 2010 Major League Baseball All-Star Game.

The 81st annual midseason exhibition will definitely be one to watch, as there are several dynamics to look forward to: a cluster of new faces, a bunch of superstars coming back, and the question of whether or not the National League can beat the American League for the first time in since 1996.

Game Goes On After Fan Falls From Upper Deck at Texas Rangers Game

Terror gripped Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, Texas when a fan fell 30 feet from the upper deck while trying to catch a Nelson Cruz foul ball Tuesday night.

Eyewitness accounts of the fall, which was not caught on video, say the middle-aged Texas fan fell from the Club Concourse section. As he fell, he tried to grip the railing of the Suite Section one level down before finally landing on the field level section below.

B/R Mock AL All-Star Vote: Hamilton Gets Starting Nod, Cabrera Hangs On

The All-Star teams were announced two days ago, and, as always, the fans, players, and managers all made some idiotic decisions .

So Bleacher Report's Featured Columnists decided to see if we could do better.

In this slideshow are the results of a poll conducted during the last week of All-Star voting.

Texas Rangers Baseball: Adding Cliff Lee Doesn't Make Them Contenders

To add Cliff Lee or not to add Cliff Lee, that is the question surrounding a lot of teams as the trade deadline is just a few weeks away.

For the Texas Rangers, however, the answer to this question has to be a resounding-no.

For one, the team is currently four and a half games up on the defending AL West champion Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and don't look to be slowing down any time soon.

San Francisco Giants Trade Bengie Molina to Texas Rangers

Here is what I wrote about the Texas Rangers’ catching situation back in January…

“You know what’s funny? At the end of the 2008 season, the Rangers had Saltalamacchia, Taylor Teagarden, and Gerald Laird on the roster, and everyone, including the Rangers, thought they had a surplus of catching.

San Francisco Giants Trade Bengie Molina to Texas Rangers: Fantasy Impact

While the MLB trade deadline is more than four weeks away, the San Francisco Giants and Texas Rangers swapped catcher Bengie Molina for reliever Chris Ray and a player to be named later on Thursday.

Although this deal may appear insignificant on the surface, it’s important to understand how this trade affects not only the fantasy values of the players involved, but others as well.

MLB Report: SF Giants Send Catcher Bengie Molina to the Texas Rangers

Update: (9:27pm CDT) The deal is official according to both Scott Boeck of USA Today and Jon Paul Morosi of Fox Sports.

Bengie Molina will head to the Rangers for Chris Ray and a player to be named later.

The Texas Rangers and San Francisco Giants are apparently close to a deal that would send catcher Bengie Molina to the Rangers.

MLB Trade Rumors: Could Josh Hamilton Be Had At The Deadline?

As of Monday night, the Texas Rangers are four-and-a-half games in front of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the race for the AL West crown, and don't look to be slowing down any time soon.

What's surprising about that is the fact that the Rangers currently have the fourth-lowest payroll in all of baseball, just in front of the Oakland A's, San Diego Padres, and Pittsburgh Pirates.

What has impressed me about this ball club is that it is doing all of this in the midst of the team going through bankruptcy proceedings.

MLB Fantasy Power Rankings (June 22nd)

These rankings are based on a 300 point system, 150 for offensive production and 150 for pitching production. 30 points (1 point for each team) is the most points any team can receive in a given category. For instance, if the Rays lead the league in HR’s they will get 30 points for that category.

The 5 offensive categories used: HR’s, RBI’s, Runs, Average, and SB’s .

The 5 pitching categories used: Wins, Saves, WHIP, ERA, and K’s
