2010 MLB Draft Results: Blue Jays Reload With an Army of Pitchers

With four picks in the first round and the first compensation round, the Blue Jays loaded up with a collection of exciting pitching prospects.

Deck McGuire at No. 11, Aaron Sanchez at No. 34, Noah Syndergaard at No. 38 and Asher Wojciechowski  (pictured) with the 41st pick all were drafted by Toronto early in the 2010 MLB Draft.

2010 MLB Draft: Toronto Blue Jays Stack Their Deck With Deck McGuire

The first round of the 2010 MLB Draft has just ended and Toronto GM Alex Anthopoulos decided that his minor leagues weren't playing with a full Deck.

Last name pun, I swear.

MLB Draft History: A Look At Blue Jays' Very Best First-Round Picks

The MLB Draft is just a day away and for the Jays, the anticipation is palpable.

After suffering through almost an entire decade of J.P.

As Soon As Chad Gaudin Came in You Knew It Was Over

Another tough day for the Yankees in Toronto, who lost to the Jays for the second straight day. There are many reasons why this one ended up in the loss column. Some that stick out include, going 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position, leaving nine men on base, and Mariano Rivera never even warming up let along getting into a game that lasted 14 innings. I could, and probably will, go into them each in detail, but first let's focus on the positives.

Kevin Gregg and Fun With Sample Sizes

To most people's surprise, Kevin Gregg opened 2010 with quite possibly his best month of work in his career.

Dwayne Murphy: The Blue Jays' Real Un-Heralded Hero

un-her-ald-ded , adjective

appearing without fanfare, publicity, or acclaim; unexpected.

That is exactly the way to describe the hitting coach for the Toronto Blue Jays, who have transformed hitters' careers around and have put the Jays' close to an AL Wild Card berth. Not surprising for a guy who has already won a World Series ring (2001 with Arizona).

The Jays lead the MLB in many offensive rankings. First in home runs already with an astonishing total of 89, first in doubles, and first in slugging percentage. I can go on and on.

MLB News: Blue Jay's Hot Hands

At the start of the 2010 MLB season, the Toronto Blue Jays were not in high hopes of their many often disappointed, but loyal, Canadian fans.

The Jays lost their beloved ace, pitcher Roy "Doc" Halladay . Halladay went to the Philadelphia Phillies for a bigger paycheck and a greater opportunity for finally getting his well-deserved Major League Baseball's World Series Championship.

Halladay was the rock of the team.  Surely, the Jays would fall apart, and quickly at that, without him...or would they?

Don't Pull the Trigger on Aaron Hill Just Yet

Aaron Hill has been back playing every day for the Blue Jays for slightly over a month now. He landed on the disabled list from April 8 to 23 when he injured his right hamstring. Since returning the results have not been encouraging, especially coming off a career year in 2009. When a player has a career year in his thirties, that's one thing, but when a player has one at age 27 like Hill did, you'd hope he could replicate it for a few more seasons.

Fantasy Baseball Scouting Report: Brett Cecil

After opening the season at Triple-A, Brett Cecil was recalled to step into Brian Tallet’s spot in the rotation after he landed on the DL.  Since making his 2010 debut on April 23, Cecil has had his share of good and bad, compiling the following statistics:

4 Wins
41.2 Innings
4.10 ERA
1.15 WHIP
33 Strikeouts (7.1 K/9)
12 Walks (2.6 BB/9)
.275 BABIP
