Cubs' Kris Bryant Hits Grand Slam in 2nd Inning, His 2nd HR of Game

Chicago Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant is a stud—a bona fide, 110 percent, absolute stud.

The 23-year-old superstar put on a fireworks show earlier than expected on Independence Day, as his team jumped out to a 7-0 lead in the second inning against the Miami Marlins. The righty bombed a two-run dinger in the first inning and then rocketed a grand slam in the second.

Wrigley Field got wild, and so did Twitter:

White Sox's Avisail Garcia Robs Chris Davis of Game-Tying HR in 9th Inning

Nope!

With his Chicago White Sox clinging to a 3-2 lead in the top of the ninth inning Saturday, outfielder Avisail Garcia saved the day.

Baltimore Orioles slugger Chris Davis sailed a would-be dinger deep to right, but Garcia showed off some crazy bounce with a perfectly timed jump and brought it back.

Tigers' Alex Avila Makes Incredible Leaping Grab While Falling in Stands

Thanks to Miguel Cabrera’s calf injury, Detroit Tigers catcher Alex Avila is out of place at first base.

Before his first career start at the new position, Avila spoke humbly to reporters:

David Ortiz Gets Drilled in Head While Breaking Up Double Play

David Ortiz took a throw off his dome in the bottom of the fifth inning as his Boston Red Sox tried to rally back against the Houston Astros on Friday.

With men on first and third with one out, Hanley Ramirez hit a grounder to the hot corner. An inning-ending double play appeared imminent.

Rays' Kevin Kiermaier Hits the Deck When Pigeon Flies Near His Head

Nothing ruins a big hit like a full-fledged bird attack.

In this case, outfielder Kevin Kiermaier didn’t quite get attacked by a rogue pigeon at the Tampa Bay Rays-New York Yankees game Friday night, but he did get scared.

And, like the grown man he is, Kiermaier dropped to the ground. At least he had a big RBI moments earlier in the top of the 12th.

Pittsburgh Pirates' Starling Marte Does Rolling Front-Flip Sliding into 2nd Base

There’s a certain beauty to a perfect slide. It’s graceful, smooth and pretty much exactly the opposite of what Starling Marte did on Saturday.

CC Sabathia Held Back After Astros' Brett Oberholtzer Throws at A-Rod

Houston Astros pitcher Brett Oberholtzer got rocked by the New York Yankees on Saturday, allowing a grand slam to catcher Brian McCann and a two-run dinger to outfielder Chris Young.

Having allowed six runs and still not out of the second inning, the lefty was frustrated. So he took his anger out on Alex Rodriguez by throwing a fastball at his midsection.

Elderly Tigers Fans Show Off Entertaining Handshake at Game

Baseball is still America’s pastime—and with baseball comes sweet handshakes.

During the Detroit Tigers-Chicago White Sox game on Friday night, a lovable elderly duo got their groove on with a heartwarming handshake.

Try finding this at another sporting event. Baseball might take its lumps, but it’ll never die.

Twins Terrify Bullpen Coach Eddie Guardado with Air Horn Prank in Locker Room

The air horn prank, as a means of terrifying people, is one of the more reliable scare tactics in the anarchist playbook.

The target is alarmed, no one is punched in the neck (usually) and everyone goes home with a fun, dull ringing in their ears.
