MLB Trade Rumors: 10 Teams With the Prospects to Get a Big Deal Done

There has been a lot of focus on the 2010 free agent signings during the "hot stove" season.

But what about a good old-fashioned trade?

Now that Cliff Lee is off the board, the pool of free agents has begun to slither away.

Here is a look at 10 teams that could potentially be involved in a blockbuster trade that might shift the course of power in both the American and National League.

Cliff Lee: 10 Ways the Yankees and Rangers Can Rebound From Losing Out on Ace

The reports are starting to come in that star-pitcher, Cliff Lee, has decided to take fewer years and less money, to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies. In doing so, Lee has turned down the opportunity to rejoin the Texas Rangers, where he won the American League Pennant, as well as turning down the chance to join the New York Yankees.

For both the Rangers and the Yankees, Cliff Lee was the number one priority of the offseason; so now what do these two teams do?

MLB Breaking News: Cliff Lee To Sign With Philadelphia Phillies

In one of the more surprising developments of the baseball offseason, Cliff Lee has decided to sign with the Philadelphia Phillies. Lee's deal with the team is worth $115 million over five years. This signing comes as a surprise as most people expected Lee to either stay in Texas with the Rangers or sign with the New York Yankees.

MLB Trade Rumors: Zack Greinke and Kansas City Royals' 10 Options

Zack Greinke's tenure with the Kansas City Royals could very well be coming to an abrupt end this week.

Although two years still remain on the 2009 AL Cy Young's contract, the Royals are trying to maximize his value by trading him now. They are of course counting on the fact that they likely won't be competing for a playoff spot anytime soon.

MLB Trade Rumors: 10 New York Yankees Moves To Hold Off the Boston Red Sox

The Boston Red Sox effectively dominated the Winter Meetings, landing both Carl Crawford and Adrian Gonzalez.

Their lineup is loaded, and have a deep rotation looking to have a bounce-back year in 2011.  The Yankees, meanwhile have stood steadfast, and have yet to make a significant move besides re-signing Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera.

With the AL East's balance of power currently shifted in Boston's favor, the Yankees will no doubt strike back, resuming baseball's Cold War.  Here are 10 possible moves the Yankees can make to turn back the tide:

MLB Rumors: Power Ranking the 15 Most Compelling Rumors of the Current Market

Now that the Winter Meetings are over and Carl Crawford and Jayson Werth have signed mammoth contracts, what's next? What other impact free-agents are still out there?

It looks more likely this winter that there will be significant player movement via trade. In this economic climate it makes sense for smaller market teams to trade players who are looking at large salary increases in the near future in exchange for younger players that they can control for a significant amount of time.

MLB Trade Rumors: Power Ranking the Teams Most Likely to Acquire Zack Greinke

The MLB's winter meetings have come and gone, and the former Cy Young Award winner Zack Greinke still has not been traded out of Kansas City.

Royals GM Dayton Moore made statements during the winter meetings that KC would be willing to trade their star player to anyone that was interested. In the end, there were some teams that would have like Greinke's services, but could never come to an agreement with the Royals for what they wanted in return.

Trading Royals Ace Zack Greinke Would be a Mistake in More Ways Than One

The Royals are on the verge of making the biggest mistake in franchise history. And that is saying something!

Trading David Cone for principally Ed Hearn was bad. Carlos Beltran for Mark Teahan, John Buck and Mike Wood was suspect at best. Johnny Damon for a bucket of chicken was downright embarrassing.

MLB Rumors: 10 Pitchers the Philadelphia Phillies Will Court To Fix the Bullpen

The Philadelphia Phillies are a great team with very little flaws.

After losing to the San Francisco Giants in the 2010 NLCS, Phillies fans were devastated on what happened.

They sat in the stands, at their homes, or at the local bar in shock and could not believe the defeat they faced.

Well, now we are entering the 2011 MLB season and we as Phillies fans must put the past behind us. We must try and make ourselves a better team for the near future.

MLB Rumors: Should Washington Trade for Zack Greinke in a 4-for-1 Deal?

The Kansas City Royals have made it clear that they are ready to trade star pitcher Zach Greinke right now, or maybe they won't. Or maybe they will, only later, sometime around next season's July 31st trade deadline.

Or not. They have him under contract for two more seasons at $13.5 million per year.

That sounds a lot like the Toronto Blue Jays just hours before Roy Halladay was shipped to the Philadelphia Phillies for a truckload of prospects.
