How Will the National League Turn Out?

As the season is coming to an end, there are many debates about who will win division races, who will win the awards, and how it will all end.

We all know what is statistically true, but there are other things that matter too. Fans pay much attention to baseball, so they know and understand a lot about which players and teams are good and which are not.

So I would like to hear what you think, as fellow fans. I will put out the facts and after that, it's all up to you.

Yankees Notes: Streaks, Miguel Montero, and MiLB Playoffs

The Yankees have an off day after finishing up a 10-game home stand with a victory against the Orioles to avoid their first sweep at the new Yankee Stadium. They were 7-3 during the home stand.

They will fly into Texas, with Jorge Posada, to start a nine-game road trip.

Here are some notes:

New York Yankees Catch Swishalicious Fever Before Heading On Tough Road-trip

It’s a bird, it’s a plane—no, wait, it is a baseball flying over the visitor’s dugout in left field at Yankee Stadium.

Nick Swisher made sure the New York Yankees avoided getting swept by the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday afternoon in the Bronx, by hitting a two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth with one out.

Brian Sabean, Bruce Bochy Enjoying San Francisco Giants' Success in 2010

Regardless of whether the San Francisco Giants make the postseason, the 2010 campaign has already been a success.

The team is contending into September as it did in 2009, but the lads' chances look much better this time around the bend.

Even if they ultimately fall short of the second season, the squad will improve upon the '09 version's 88-74 record as long as they don't finish in a 10-12 skid.

Who Is Trent Oeltjen? Meeting the 2010 Los Angeles Dodgers

Recently called up by the Los Angeles Dodgers to fill the vacated 40-man roster spot left behind by Ronnie Belliard, Trent Carl Wayne Oeltjen is an Australian-born outfielder with great speed and a high Triple-A batting average.

Troy Tulowitzki, Colorado Rockies Keep Rolling with 9-2 Win Over Cincinnati Reds

The Rockies just won't quit.

On Wednesday night they took their third straight from the Cincinnati Reds and their sixth straight overall with a convincing 9-2 win.

Aaron Cook looked good in his return to Coors Field before getting a line drive hit off of his heel. He went five innings and gave up just one run in a shaky first inning. After that inning, however, he looked like the vintage Aaron Cook.

Florida Marlins Offseason Checklist: A Fan Guide To What Needs To Happen

With what essentially was a three-game sweep at the hands of the NL East-leading Philadelphia Phillies, the Florida Marlins can officially kiss their last playoff hopes goodbye.

The ship began sailing when Ricky Nolasco went down and now recently with Josh Johnson and his back. JJ might be shut down to avoid any further injury when the team is no longer in the race.

Carlos Pena: The Anti-Adrian Beltre

I am a great admirer of Boston Red Sox 3B Adrian Beltre. It’s not because I think he is such a great guy or that he is such a fantastic fielder. I admire Beltre because of his uncanny ability to have career years in his free agent year.

Jimmy Rollins Is Injured While Cole Hamels and The Phils Dismantle The Fish

How do the Phillies follow up their reclaiming of first place in the NL East? With a game that was almost too much fun to watch. The first inning brought two quick scores by the Phillies, as the Phils jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

The party came to a halt however, when Jimmy Rollins left the game with a, then, undisclosed injury in the third inning. The Phillies are now calling it "tightness in the hamstring."

Looking Back at the 2010 MLB Trade Deadline: Evaluating the Trades Thus Far

We all know July 31 and the days leading up to that day change the season for some teams. There were some serious trades including a trade involving a Cy Young winner and a couple of ex-first overall draft picks. This slideshow shows the top nine pickups and the worst trade deadline pickups. The slideshow only shows teams in second or third place who brought in players who have played well since joining their new team.
