Healthy Josh Hamilton Back on Track

Josh Hamilton only played in 89 games last season due to injuries and hit hit 10 home runs while driving in 54 runs and hitting .268 in 336 at bats.

So far, 2010 has been a different story as Hamilton has hit 22 home runs, which is one behind the major league leader Jose Bautista with 23. He has also driven in 64 runs and is leading the majors with a .349 batting average.

Say Goodbye to Cliff Lee and Hello To Justin Smoak

At the beginning of the MLB season the Mariners looked like serious contenders in the AL West.

That hasn't been the case.

The Mariners are 34-51 at the All-Star break and now they are trading perhaps their best pitcher, Cliff Lee, to the Rangers.

The trade goes like this: the Mariners trade Cliff Lee and Mark Lowe to the Rangers for Justin Smoak and minor leaguers Blake Beavan, Josh Leuke, and Matthew Lawson.

We all knew this was going to happen and I think it might have been the best trade possible.

Seattle Mariners Trade Cliff Lee to Texas Rangers: Fantasy Impact

After weeks of anticipation, Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Cliff Lee finally has a new home.

Mike Pelfrey Must Pitch Better For Mets to Stay In Race

NEW YORK There are just two games left in the first half of the baseball season. For the Mets, the first half was as much a roller coaster ride as they've had in their history.

One of the worst starts ever, to a possible managerial firing, to being in or around first place with an amazing surge, the Mets have been through everything in 2010.

New York Mets' Shortstop Jose Reyes to Have MRI on Oblique

The New York Mets are now crossing their fingers. It was announced late Friday night that their dynamic leadoff man, Jose Reyes, will undergo an MRI for his injured right oblique. This story was first reported by ESPN's Adam Rubin .

Rockies-Padres: Ian Stewart Slams Colorado to Victory

A month changes everything.

The Colorado Rockies closed the gap to two games in the National League West, defeating the San Diego Padres 10-8 at Coors Field on Friday night.

In early June, the Rockies were a team defined by failing when it counted the most. They had not won a game in which they were trailing after seven innings.

Bob Geren Is No Einstein But He Does Fit His Definition of Insanity

Bob Geren does not belong with the name Albert Einstein, but he does have something in common with him. That is Einstein's definition of insanity, which is doing the same things over and over again expecting a different result.

Well, for the Oakland A's and their bullpen, Geren continues to make the same errors in decision making or in some cases the lack of decision making process. Tonight's another perfect example of Geren's insanity.

Texas Rangers Acquisition Of Cliff Lee Should Raise Red Flags In MLB

How can a team being run by MLB be allowed to obtain the best pitcher on the market?

Perhaps the answer is when MLB is being run by a commissioner in Bud Selig who is an idiot.

"Everybody knows our situation. When we take on salary, we have to look at that and see if we can justify it within our budget," team president Nolan Ryan said. "As long as we stay within our budget, we don't really have restrictions on us to where we can't do things."

MLB: Desperation Time for the Mets' Bullpen

With Cliff Lee out of the picture, it is looking like the Mets are going to stick with their squad for the rest of the season (fingers crossed for the return of Ty Wiggington).

From what I've seen out of the Mets starting rotation so far, Hisanori Takahashi is not a guy who should be in the rotation for a contending team such as the Mets. Takahashi is the kind of guy who has great off speed stuff, rarely blows anyone away with his fastball, and has questionable stamina after pitching on a seven man rotation in Japan.

Trade Bait: Could Ricky Nolasco Be Traded To the New York Mets?

The Florida Marlins currently are a team that are indecisive regarding their status as sellers or buyers.

Meaning that possibly many teams could end up having interest in a pitcher like Nolasco, even possibly the Mets.

The Mets were considered front runners for a possible Cliff Lee trade, but unfortunately that fell through when the Mariners tried to sweeten their deal by asking the Mets to include Ike Davis in the possible trade.
