Minnesota Twins: April Gloom Brings May Encouragement

Jerry Lewis had Dean Martin, Barney Rubble had Fred Flintstone, and Ed Norton had Ralph Kramden. Each good enough to stand by themselves but with their sidekick, they are that much more enjoyable. Now Justin Morneau has his Joe Mauer back in the lineup.

As was proven in his first swing of the season last night, Joe Mauer means a great deal to the Twins franchise. Having his bat in the lineup atop the order is going to help move this offense along and provide more RBI situations for Morneau hitting behind him. The way he handles the pitching staff will help settle down the rotation.

As the Twins look in the rear view mirror and watch the usual rocky start of April fall behind them, they enjoy the season arrival of Joe Mauer. These are the Twins we know and love. This is the performance we expect each and every night from the ball club. This is the joy and excitement we have grown accustomed to with him playing everyday.

Justin Morneau is the team's thunder, and Joe Mauer the teams lightning. The time is now for this team to take over the division. The confidence of this team is about to boil over. The American League is hereby warned—take cover, as the Twins are ready to vanquish their opponents.

Welcome back Joe, and enjoy the ride as the cream will now rise to the top of the division.
