Orlando Cabrera, Jack Wilson Rumored to the Red Sox

The Red Sox rumors just keep coming.

Now, Oakland Athletics shortstop Orlando Cabrera is now rumored for the Red Sox.

Cabrera was traded from the Montreal Expos to the Boston Red Sox in the blockbuster trade that sent beloved Red Sox shortstop Nomar Garciaparra to the Chicago Cubs and propelled the Red Sox to the 2004 World Series Championship.

The Red Sox didn't pickup Cabrera's contract for the 2005 season, and was signed by the Los Angeles Angels, and after the 2007 season was traded Chicago White Sox for 2008.

He was signed as a free agent by Oakland on March 6. Ironically, the A's also picked up Garciaparra this off-season, too. This season, Cabrera is hitting .235, with two home runs and 19 RBI. he has 52 hits in 54 games.

The Red Sox also seem to want Pittsburgh Pirates shortstop Jack Wilson. It seems every off-season and trade deadline the Red Sox are trying to trade for Wilson.

After the Jason Bay and Xavier Nady trades of 2008, and the trade of Nate McLouth to the Atlanta Braves a few days ago, I wonder if the Pirates will try to continue with the team dismantlement with Wilson.

This year Wilson is hitting .273 with one home run and 19 RBI with 35 hits in 36 games.
