Zack Grienke: A Superstar Pitcher For The Kansas City Royals

The Kansas City Royals are an up-and-coming team in the American League. It all starts with Zack Greinke, and the rest of their pitching.

Zack Greinke has turned himself into one of the premier pitchers in the game with his hot start this season.

He was Rookie of the Year in 2004, and could add a Cy Young award this season. Plus, he could be MVP, or Comeback Player of the Year.

Zack Greinke is 8-1 in 10 games started with a 0.84 ERA this season. He has five complete games, and two shutouts. He has thrown 75.0 innings this season, and averages 9.7 strikeouts per nine innings.

Greinke has struck out 81 batters this season. He also averages only 1.4 walks per nine innings. Plus, he has given up 0 home runs.

Greinke has been very dominant this season, and has gotten a lot of Royals fans excited about this season, and seasons to come.

However, Greinke has had his struggles in the past.

He lost 17 games in 2005, then struggled with depression and an anxiety disorder that placed him on the 60-day disabled list in 2006.

In 2007, however, Greinke was back as a starter and a reliever for the Royals He had his best year in 2008, when he won a career high 13 games and pitched 14 consecutive scoreless innings to end the season.

This season he extended that mark, but it ended in April after reaching 38 scoreless innings.

Greinke has four really good pitches: a slider, a curveball, a fastball, and a change-up.

This season he has been dominant, and has appeared on the Sports Illustrated cover.

Greinke is a player that doesn't like attention, but is getting used to it, and continues to regain his confidence back after struggling with an anxiety disorder and depression.

Greinke is really a special player, excels at what he does, and is fun to watch night-in and night-out. Continue to watch Greinke this season, and see how he will continue to excel at what he does.
