San Francisco Giants Vs. Philadelphia Phillies: Game 2 Live Blog

San Francisco Giants Vs. Philadelphia Phillies: Game 2 Live Blog

Good evening, baseball fans, and welcome to Game 2 of the NLCS between the San Francisco Giants and Philadelphia Phillies. I'm Evan Adrian, and I'll be here from the first pitch to the final out.

Roy Oswalt and Philly will try to even this series against Giants' lefty Jonathan Sanchez. If Sanchez can give San Francisco a dominant performance, they can head back to San Francisco up 2-0. This is essentially a must-win game for the Phillies.

Salutations, Bleacher Bums!  Marc Juberg here, ready to bring a little West Coast flavor to the 2010 National League Championship Series, which the national media seemed determined to have us believe was over before it started.

2010 Offseason Will Be Historically Tough for the New York Yankees

Two seasons ago, the Yankees missed the playoffs for the first—and last—time this decade. They went into the offseason with a sense of urgency—a sense that holds none of the connoted nerves for Yankees fans, considering they always have the financial power to get the job done.

And they did.

The Yankees signed three of the top free agents to long-term deals. CC Sabathia, A.J. Burnett and Mark Teixeira were all Yankees. They would go on to win the World Series.

2010 ALCS Game 3: Time For Yankees Fans To Step It Up In The Bronx

The 2010 ALCS is tied at one game apiece.

The New York Yankees couldn’t muster together another comeback win last night and the Texas Rangers won 7-2.

Phil Hughes followed in CC Sabathia’s footsteps with another not-so-great performance from a Yankees starter. They’re human, just like the rest of us, and nobody is perfect.

The postseason isn’t built for chances or mistakes.

NLCS 2010: San Francisco Giants Hold On, Win Game 1 4-3

The San Francisco Giants have jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the best-of-seven National League Championship Series, riding two key Cody Ross home runs as well as strong pitching from Tin Lincecum and two relievers to a 4-3 victory in Philadelphia.

The Phillies' ace Roy Halladay took a step back from his no hit performance in the NLDS against the Cincinnati Reds, surrendering 4 runs in 7 innings of work.

Pat Burrell drove in a run with a two-run double, as did Juan Uribe, who chipped in an RBI single for the visiting Giants.

ALCS 2010: What To Look for as the New York Yankees Return Home, Tied 1-1

After two games, the New York Yankees are tied one game apiece with the Texas Rangers in the American League Championship Series.

There are a number of things that Yankees fans should be aware of as their team returns home for three games.

Ted Lilly Signs Multi-Year Deal with Los Angeles Dodgers

Starting pitcher Ted Lilly has signed a three-year deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers, according to Dylan Hernandez of the LA Times.

Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports has also been reporting on Lilly's new deal. The dollar amount for the three-year contract has not yet been disclosed.

ALCS Game 2: Texas Rangers Report Card After 7-2 Win Over Yankees

For the first time in franchise history, the Texas Rangers have won a home playoff game and ALCS game. Once again, the Rangers built a 5-0 lead and unlike last night, they held on.

A steal of home as part of a double steal for Texas got them going in the first and they never looked back. Just like in Game 1, the Yankees saw their starter struggle mightily. In the second inning, David Murphy hit his first career playoff home run and at the end, the Rangers won, 7-2.

New York Yankees' Comeback Reveals Rangers' Manager Ron Washington's Weaknesses

I am 100 percent confident that C.J. Wilson does NOT give up five runs in the eighth inning if Ron Washington is allowed to stay in. He allowed two runs on two hits in that inning, and was pulled in favor of Darren Oliver following a Derek Jeter RBI double.

But the Yankees would probably have only scored those two runs (or maybe just the one already in) had Texas manager Ron Washington avoided being like Bobby Cox and Bruce Bochy.

The Top Latinos in MLB's Championship Series

The League Championship Series are under way between the New York Yankees and Texas Rangers in the American League and the Philadelphia Phillies and San Francisco Giants in the National League.

It has become customary to see Latino players every year excel in a single moment or throughout a whole series.
