The Miami Marlins have a "tentative game plan" to put ace starting pitcher Jose Fernandez on an innings limit for the upcoming season, which the team "will review with Jose in spring training,” according to president of baseball operations Michael Hill (via Jon Morosi of FoxSports.com).

It’s funny because even though we can all agree that sport is the best in unscripted reality television, our natural tendency is to predict. We think we know who may compete this baseball season simply because we can look at rosters and compare them.

The look on Bruce Bochy's face made it clear this wasn't the first time he was hearing the phrase "even-year magic." Heck, since leading the San Francisco Giants to the first of three straight even-year World Series titles in 2010, the veteran skipper has probably heard it a million times.

And he now seems prepared to hear it a million more times in 2016.

Harvey Open to the Possibility of Signing an Extension

Harvey hasn't dismissed the possibility of signing a long-term contract extension with the Mets.

Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News confirmed the deal Sunday, noting it will include an invitation to spring training.

Jose Fernandez and the Miami Marlins appear to be destined for a divorce by the time the hard-hurling right-hander hits free agency in 2018.
