Mike Cameron Signs with Boston and Ends the Jason Bay Era

Jason Bay? Nope.

Matt Holliday? Pass.

The Boston Red Sox balked at the sticker price on the two marquee left fielders on the market and went a different route by reportedly signing veteran center fielder Mike Cameron.

The signing—which is currently pending a physical—further solidifies the end of the Jason Bay era in Boston and by all accounts should spell the end of any more Matt Holliday to Boston rumors.

The Angels Fall Short On Lackey and Halladay

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim free agent pitcher John Lackey, above, is reportedly headed to the Boston Red Sox after signing a five-year deal worth $85 million.

That means the Angels will be without both Lackey and Chone Figgins, who was also a free agent and departed for a four-year deal worth $36 million with the Seattle Mariners.

The Mariners were also just involved in a three-way trade with the Toronto Blue Jays and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Thanks Cliff Lee: It Was Good While it Lasted

Though it isn’t official yet, the Phillies have reportedly traded for Toronto Blue Jays’ ace Roy Halladay.

The only con is that the Phillies likely have traded away ace Cliff Lee in the process. There is still a chance he may not be included in the deal, though it is unlikely.

The deal will certainly be followed with mixed emotions from Phillies fans, especially considering what Lee did for them last year.

Mariners Supposedly In On Three-Way-Deal For Cliff Lee

Whoa.

This isn't final, for starters, but the rumor is starting to snowball. The gist of it goes like this:

Seattle gets: Cliff Lee

Philadelphia gets: Roy Halladay

Toronto gets: A whole bunch of prospects. Mariners will supposedly send two or more from this bunch: Brandon Morrow, Phillipe Aumont and Michael Saunders.

Breaking News: Cliff Lee Headed to Seattle in Three-Way, Blockbuster Deal

Multiple sources have been reporting over the last four hours that a blockbuster trade between the Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies, and Toronto Blue Jays is on the verge of being a done deal.
The trade would send Roy Halladay to the Phillies, Cliff Lee to the Mariners, one Mariners prospect to the Blue Jays, two Mariners prospects to the Phillies, and two Phillies prospects to the Blue Jays.
This deal is also dependent on Roy Halladay signing an extension with the Phillies, which is apparently all but a formality.

Seattle Mariners Acquire Cliff Lee in Blockbuster Deal

The Seattle Mariners are part of a three team deal with the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies that will send Roy Halladay to the Phillies, and net the Mariners All Star and Cy Young award winning pitcher Cliff Lee.

After losing out on All Star CF Curtis Granderson in the one blockbuster trade completed at the Winter Meetings between the Yankees, Tigers, and Diamondbacks, Jack Zdureincik smartly held off of the Tigers ridiculously high asking price of P Phillipe Aumont, P Brandon Morrow, and P Shawn Kelley, to start negotiations for Granderson.

Roy Halladay to Philadelphia, Cliff Lee to Seattle

Sports Illustrated is reporting that the Philadelphia Phillies have acquired Roy Halladay from the Toronto Blue Jays. The Phillies are also said to have dealt Cliff Lee to the Seattle Mariners, who are included as a third team.

The rest of the players in this blockbuster deal are yet to be confirmed.

Halladay, 32, is expected to sign a contract extension with the Phillies to complete the deal.

Washington Nationals' Jesus Flores Shut Down Until February

According to MLB.com's Bill Ladson , Washington Nationals catcher Jesus Flores has been "shut down" from baseball related drills until February, presumably when pitchers and catchers report for spring training.
Flores is recovering from labrum and elbow surgeries following a 2009 season that saw him get just 106 plate appearances before being shut down with what was originall

Philadelphia Phillies to Acquire Roy Halladay in Three-Team Blockbuster Deal

The Philadelphia Phillies have agreed to trade for coveted pitcher Roy Halladay in a three-team blockbuster that would send Halladay to the Phillies and Cliff Lee to the Mariners.

Sources say Halladay would agree to a long-term contract extension that would complete the deal. Halladay would go to the National league while Lee would return to the American league where he won the 2008 Cy Young award.
