Major League Baseball is ready to launch an offensive.

The target: players with ties to the now-defunct Miami anti-aging clinic "Biogenesis."

Launch date: soon.

...Or at least, that's the plan.

Former Biogenesis founder and proprietor Tony Bosch holds the cards in what may become the largest performance-enhancing drugs crackdown in modern sports history.

The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim were recently swept by the Houston Astros, a team with a minuscule payroll widely believed to be one of the worst in the modern era.  

This drops the Halos' record to 25-33, 11 games out of first place in the AL West and seven games out of the wild-card picture.

This is a confusing time in baseball's history. ESPN's Outside the Lines is reporting that Major League Baseball is prepared to suspend roughly 20 players for their alleged association with Miami-based "wellness" guru Tony Bosch and his now-defunct business Biogenesis. Some of the players, including Ryan Braun and Alex Rodriguez, could each face a 100-game suspension—some without ever failing a test.

With the MLB First-Year Player Draft set to kick off Thursday evening, the St. Louis Cardinals are no doubt busy with their own mock drafts.
