In the middle of the New York Yankees' lineup, you can find two aging hitters who seemed to be past their primes but are now hitting as if they've found the fountain of youth.

The one who's gotten the most press is Alex Rodriguez, and deservedly so. But we're going to give some overdue credit to the other guy: Mark Teixeira.

New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez continues inching his way up the MLB all-time list for runs batted in. With an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday night, A-Rod surpassed Barry Bonds for second with 1,997 career RBI, per the Yankees. Rodriguez now trails only Hank Aaron in career RBI.

Brett Lawrie's Broken Bat Strikes and Injures Fan in Stands at Fenway Park

There was a frightening incident Friday during the Oakland Athletics-Boston Red Sox game at Fenway Park, as a broken-bat shard struck a fan, later identified as Tonya Carpenter, in the stands.  

ESPN.com's Gordon Edes reported that Athletics third baseman Brett Lawrie's bat broke, sending a piece into the stands. That shard hit a fan who was sitting down the third-base line:
