Abreu off to Historic Start Through 1st 162 Games of Career

Chicago White Sox first baseman Jose Abreu played the 162nd game of his career Sunday against the Kansas City Royals, allowing him to join Rudy York, Chuck Klein and Ryan Braun as the only players in MLB history with a .300 batting average, 40 home runs and 120 RBI through 162 games, per ESPN Stats & Info.

Baltimore Mayor Asks Fans to Stay Inside Camden Yards Amid Protests

During a game between the Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles at Camden Yards on Saturday, protests in the city of Baltimore caused Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake to urge fans at the stadium to remain there for the time being.

Toronto Blue Jays Release Former All-Star Pitcher Ricky Romero

In an unexpected move on Saturday, the Toronto Blue Jays released left-hander Ricky Romero, per Gregor Chisholm of MLB.com.

Romero was in the final year of a five-year contract and was set to earn $7.5 million this season. The Blue Jays will have to pay that amount in full along with a $600,000 buyout fee for Romero’s $13.1 club option in 2016.

Adrian Beltre Sent Invoice for $300 to Garrett Richards for 3 Broken Bats

Adrian Beltre is a good baseball player and a better businessman.

On Friday, the Texas Rangers third baseman shattered three bats while squaring off against Garrett Richards, a 26-year-old flame-thrower from the Los Angeles Angels.

Beltre doesn't care that he's made a whopping $165 million over the course of his 18-year career. He still wants compensation from the reliever.
