There is no better feeling for a young child than nabbing a baseball at a major league park. 

However, this young boy in Boston passed it up and paid it forward in a big way. After Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez's foul ball found its way into the stands during the bottom of the fourth inning on Friday, the boy immediately handed the ball to the young girl sitting behind him.

The Texas Rangers, beset this season by injuries and poor performance to the point where they currently own the worst record in Major League Baseball, face yet another challenge with the surprise resignation of manager Ron Washington.

With less than a month left to play in the 2014 Major League Baseball regular season, the Pittsburgh Pirates are on the outside of a playoff race looking in.  

While it is still manageable for Pittsburgh to reach the playoffs for the second straight year, it is not too soon to start thinking about what this team will look like in 2015.

Entering Friday's action, Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins is the current National League leader in home runs (36), RBI (102) and slugging percentage (.566). If he's able to maintain his status in all three categories through the end of the season, he'll be the first NL player to do so since Dante Bichette of the 1995 Colorado Rockies, per ESPN Stats & Info.

San Diego Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera was reportedly arrested on Wednesday for operating a vehicle under the influence, according to TMZSports.com.

Per the report, Cabrera was under the influence of marijuana and arrested as a result. The incident happened just after midnight on September 3.

Felix Hernandez has put together an illustrious career as the ace of the Seattle Mariners for nearly a decade, with 2014 ranking as his best season yet.

In the midst of an abysmal season for the Texas Rangers, things just got much worse for the franchise. Ron Washington, the team's manager since the 2007 season, has reportedly resigned from the franchise.

With the shift on, Jeter had to sprint in to guard against the bunt. The whole situation had both Ortiz and Jeter cracking up.
